running wild

this past weekend, T and i decided to take advantage of some extra sunny (and warm-ish) weather by taking the pups out so play. since our babes are a bit bigger, we try to take them out to less crowded areas so they can run around, roughhouse, and play fetch. plus, seeing our two run around sans leash can be a bit alarming to non-dog friendly folks. so, we just avoid the fuss and keep it simple.

it seemed that once we parked the car, the boys went from zero to one hundred on excitement as they took off to play tag with each other, leave notes, play with hay, and run alongside T.

[stole a smooch ;)]

[look at that happy boy...lazy lab tongue and all]

we had such a great time that we may make it our weekly routine for them. plus, the boys napped the afternoon away once we got home...bonus! ;)

a pop of fuschia

this coat had me at hello. between the color, the texture, the cut...i couldn't just walk away from a coat like that! it was too perfect, and the coat i didn't know i needed.

did i mention it had a stunning brooch to boot? i figured such a great piece needed to be celebrated with, of course, sequins.

banana oatmeal muffins

i know it's been a hot minute since i've posted a recipe so, i hope this one makes up for it. this happens to be one of my favorite muffin recipes and, is also, one of the easiest. (sadly, i keep having trouble uploading the original website i found it from, so, i apologize.) it's perfect for breakfast, post-workout snack, or really, anytime snacking ;)

here's what you'll need:
1 cup greek yogurt
3 bananas (it's actually better when you use bananas that are browning)
2 eggs
2.5 cups of old-fashioned oats
3/4 cup of sugar
1.5 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
muffin tin
muffin liners

directions:
1. place all your ingredients in a blender (i try to layer it with the dry and wet ingredients evenly dispersed in the blender.) and blend until smooth, see photo #3 below for what it should look like.
2. preheat the oven to 400 degrees and place liners in the muffin tin.
3. fill your liners with the blended mix until they are about 3/4ths full. should make about 26.
4. bake for 15-20 mins, or, until your toothpick comes out clean.
5. enjoy!

hope you like it!

a fluke

hoping everyone had a great long weekend. ours was pretty lazy 'round these parts. the weather had been pretty gloomy and cold for several weeks and then, out of the blue, some spring-like temps came in to say hello! so, i decided to seize the opportunity to sport my short-sleeve t-shirt mini dress and combat boots without looking too desperate for spring.

from the studio to the gallery

for several years now, T has posed for his friend, sohail shehada, a local artist who has created numerous works of art via paintings and sculptures. a couple weeks ago, i was able to come watch them work on a new piece sohail was to submit for an art competition as well as a few others for shows in the future.

[new piece to be submitted...]

a few of the pieces he had finished up were featured in last fridays art show in the paseo district. the above and below pieces were my favorites.

m&j met up with us to see the new pieces T was in.

[dulce de leche inspired dessert, yum]

[i love this table]

[very alice in wonderland-esque]

so excited to see what's in store for future pieces from sohail as well as the other galleries in the paseo!

afternoon tea

while home for christmas, my parents and i went to the dragonmoon tea co. i am a big time tea lover and was thrilled to get to take a long lunch with my favorite beverage. plus, the company wasn't too terrible either ;)

while there, we shared a pot of the orchid oolong which was absolutely lovely. if you ever get the chance to go, i highly recommend you try it. oolong teas happen to be my favorite and i have to say, this one is a contender for my number one pick alongside my other favorites, monkey pickled oolong and jasmine oolong.

a perfect afternoon and definitely warrants a repeat next time i'm back in tulsa!
