to the art museum

not too long ago, alex and i caught wind of an exhibit coming to the oklahoma city museum of art (or, okc moa) called heaven and earth. the focus of this tour was 500 years in italian paintings from the glasgow museum. it would start with the religious paintings of the middle ages and renaissance period up through the secular works of the 19th century.

of course, i couldn't photograph any of these works but, should this tour come through your town, i would highly suggest checking it out. it was so interesting to learn the history behind each piece and, i couldn't help but marvel at the lovely usage of colors and textures.

[very reminiscent of georgia o'keefe]

afterwards, we checked out their new contemporary works...

[i loved this kimono sculpture]

while we were there, we had the great pleasure of viewing an art class in the works. which, i had to commend the students, as i imagine going to a museum to improve technique would be such a boost to your creativity. but, at the same time, very intimidating. kudos to them all!

[how much does alex remind you of sloane peterson? completely effortless that one is]

a great sunday funday and not a bad "start" to the coming week!
